Appleton, WI – Wisconsin business partners Loren Breckenridge and Jackie Lee announced today that they would display very rare, historically significant Cody Stone Ore and Jewelry fashioned from the ore at the Midwest Horse Fair in April.
Cody Stone, made from natural gold, silver, copper, and tungsten quartz ore from Buffalo Bill Cody’s Campo Bonito Gold Mine in the Santa Catalina Mountains, is the same ore that was used to make the filaments of Thomas Edison’s first Commercial Light Bulbs that lit the world and started the industrial revolution.
Also known as the Buffalo Bill Stone, the extremely rare Cody Stone a is unique and one-of-a-kind piece of history that has captivated equestrian enthusiasts, history buffs, and collectors alike worldwide. Each piece is unique and contains a part of American history.
The Campo Bonito Gold Mine, which was in operation in the late 1800s to early 1900s is one of the most famous and historically significant gold mines in the American West. It was owned by the legendary Buffalo Bill Cody who was a successful entrepreneur, American Scout, Pony Express Rider, Bison Hunter, and Showman worldwide.
Visitors at the Midwest Horse Fair will have the chance to view this incredible piece of history up close and to learn about its monumental significance, and gain a richer understanding of our past.
The exhibit will include a detailed explanation of the stone’s history and its role in Buffalo Bill Cody’s life and the Industrial Revolution.

The Midwest Horse Fair occurs April 14-16, 2023, at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison, Wisconsin. The Cody Stone exhibit will be located in the Coliseum at booth C79, dedicated to showcasing the rich history of the equestrian world.
